It is with deep regret and sad hearts that we learnt about the passing of Kelly Ann de Villiers, the wife of W/O Jerome de Villiers. Kelly has supported and assisted retired police members of Pietermaritzburg and Durban. As the principal of Chistlehurst Academics and Arts she kindly granted us permission to utilise the school hall and other facilities where our meetings were held since October 2016. At our first meeting we walked into an exquisitely decorated hall and dining area with a rustic theme. Our dear Kelly had worked early into the morning preparing the hall. When we invited our Durban officers to Pietermaritzburg, she personally once again worked late into the night to decorate the hall beautifully with tables and chairs, flowers on each table for the members and our guests.

Farewell Kelly. We salute you for your friendly and kind demeanour towards us.

2 Corinthians 5:8 - “... absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

We shall miss you walking into our monthly meetings just to say hi to everyone and to ensure that all was well.

On behalf of retired police officers in Pietermaritzburg and Durban. Farewell!

RIP. Hamba Kahle!

The concept of organised crime often evokes images of mafia- like figures and secret societies involved in drug trafficking and murder.
By Kotie Geldenhuys
The use of excessive force by law enforcers across the world is not uncommon.

Since the Czech fugitive, Radovan Krejcir, entered South Africa with a false passport in 2007, the bodies of people associated with him have been piling up.
