Pollex noticed the following two letters in the regional newspaper Tyger Burger, dated 2 June 2021, which circulates in the Northern Suburbs in the Cape Peninsula.
Note that the second letter on the attached item is in Afrikaans. Translated by me into English, it reads as follows:
Thanks to the police
My visit to Kuils River Police Station was a pleasure.
Contrary to expectation that I will be treated like others were treated at various other police stations, were unfounded.
My impression was that the office management is of a high standard and that it filters down to the staff members.
In the time of poor service, particularly in the public service, this experience was gladdening.
I congratulate you with this image that you send out and I wish you, as a team, only the best.
Pollex now wants to know what Kuils River Police Station does correctly but which other police stations (just to mention three) do not do correctly, namely –
Deneysville along the Vaal Dam on the Free State side: The Ms Amanda de Goede incident;
Port Elizabeth: Minister of Police v Ranshaw Bagley, dated 11 May 2021, Grahamstown High Court; and
Middelburg, Mpumalanga: J E Mahlangu and Another v Minister of Police, dated 14 May 2021, Constitutional Court.
